Getting it to us

Two Ways to Get Your Scope Repair to Our Bench

Courier pickup inside Southern California, prepaid mail-in everywhere else. Both routes reach the same evaluation and the same written quote.

Southern California courier pickup

Across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties we collect the device from your department and return it the same way. You do not pack a carton, open a freight account, or work out how to protect an insertion tube in transit.

  • Hand the device over in its case or tray where you have one
  • Take a failed device out of rotation and keep it dry until collection
  • Tell us the department and contact so the return goes to the right desk
  • Batch several devices onto one collection when nothing is urgent
  • Include couplers, camera heads, and cables when the complaint is the picture

Prepaid mail-in from anywhere in the US

We email a prepaid label, you send the device, and it goes through the same bench sequence. Shipping is covered in both directions, so getting a written quote costs you nothing beyond the packing time.

  • Coil an insertion tube in a wide loop, never a tight one
  • Keep the distal end and the connector away from the carton wall
  • Ship rigid telescopes in a case or a rigid tube, not loose in fill
  • Remove valves and caps, and note anything sent alongside the device
  • Put the model number and the symptom in the box with a contact name

What happens next

What Happens After Your Scope Repair Request

Four steps, with the decision point sitting with you rather than with us.

1

Tell us what failed

Send the manufacturer, model, and what you are seeing. A photo of the damage helps but is not required.

2

We collect the scope

Courier pickup across Southern California, or a prepaid shipping label in your inbox the same business day.

3

You get a written quote

We evaluate the device, document the failure, and price the repair. Nothing proceeds until you approve it.

4

Repaired, tested, returned

The device is repaired, leak and function tested, and returned with documentation for your records.

What to Include in an Endoscope Repair Request

Three things move a request forward: the manufacturer, the model number from the label, and a plain description of what the device is doing. Everything else is helpful rather than required.

If you have it, add when the symptom appeared, what the device was doing at the time, and whether it was dropped or had an accessory forced through a channel. That detail shortens the evaluation and occasionally changes the repair.

Photographs of the distal end, the bending section, and the connector are worth more than a paragraph of description. If you are not sure which service line the device belongs to, the service overview or the symptom pages will sort it out.

Collection is arranged around your dock and credentialing rules rather than the other way round, and the device stays in a hard case the whole way.

How to Pack a Medical Scope for Shipping

Most transit damage comes from two mistakes: coiling an insertion tube too tightly, and letting the distal end sit against the carton wall. Use a wide loop, keep the tip centered, and pad the connector separately.

Rigid telescopes want a case or a rigid tube. Loose fill lets a shaft move, and a shaft that moves inside a carton does not arrive straighter than it left. If the device has a factory case, use it.

Anything that failed pressure testing should stay dry and stay out of the reprocessor. Do not run another cycle to confirm the fault. The leak repair page explains what a second cycle does to a breached device.

When to Call Us About a Scope Repair Instead

Call when the schedule is the problem rather than the device. If a room is held up, if several units went down together, or if you need to work out what to send first, a two-minute conversation beats a form.

Call as well when the device is unusual, when the label is gone, or when the last shop told you it could not be repaired. Those are worth a look before anyone writes the unit off.

Business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific. If you are outside Southern California and want to know how the mail-in route works before you commit, the coverage page lays it out.

Questions we get

Questions About Sending Us a Medical Scope

When can we expect a reply after we send the form?
We take calls and requests Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific. Anything that arrives outside those hours is picked up when we are next open. If a room is held up right now, call rather than using the form.
Can you quote a price before we send the device?
We can usually name the likely cause from a description and a photograph, and we will. We will not commit to a price from that alone, because a quote written after the device is open is worth more than one that has to be revised later.
What does the evaluation cost if we decide not to repair it?
Nothing. The evaluation is free, the quote is written, and if you decline the work the device goes back to you in the condition it arrived. That applies to a single hand instrument the same as to a video colonoscope.
Do we need a purchase order before you will look at a device?
No. Send the device and get the quote first, then raise the paperwork against a number you have actually seen. Most departments find that order easier to justify internally.
Can you collect from more than one building in our system?
Yes. Multi-site collections are routine across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties. Tell us which departments are involved and we will put them on one run. County detail is on the Orange County page and its neighbors.
