Plenty of working devices still carry the Fujinon name on the connector. They were bought before the branding changed, they were well made, and in many endoscopy suites they are still doing real clinical work. What they no longer have is a factory pathway that treats them as current inventory.

That is the situation independent repair exists for. A device that is mechanically sound but out of favor with its maker is a repairable asset, not a disposal problem, and the decision about whether to keep it should be based on what an evaluation actually finds rather than on a catalog cutoff date.

Flexible Scope Repair Across the GI Range

Whatever the label on the connector, the failure list in a GI suite is short and repeatable. Angulation that no longer reaches full deflection. A suction channel narrowed by years of forceps passes. An insertion tube crushed between a cart and a door frame. A distal lens starred by a bite block. A leak somewhere in the outer seal that reprocessing caught this morning.

All of that is handled under flexible endoscope repair, with a full leak test, channel patency check, articulation measurement, and image assessment on every arrival before a price is quoted. Lower GI volume usually enters through colonoscope service, and clinic fleets through sigmoidoscope work.

Video Endoscope Faults We See Most on These Platforms

Weak insufflation and water that will not reach the lens are the two complaints that get logged as annoyances rather than faults, so they run for months. They are usually a valve seat, a partial blockage, or a channel that has degraded inside the umbilical. Our air and water channel page explains how those are separated.

A failed leak test is the other one, and it is urgent in a way the others are not. Do not run another reprocessing cycle on a device that failed, because a wet interior turns a modest repair into a total loss. Details are on the leak testing page.

If a device is genuinely finished, we say so. A scope with a compromised working channel and a fluid invasion history is often better retired than rebuilt, and that answer costs us the repair order.
