Equipment we service
Pentax Scope Families We Service
The flexible devices that carry the GI and ENT caseload, plus the cables and connector sections that fail alongside them.
Video colonoscopes
Lower GI scopes carrying the heaviest case volume in the suite. Angulation loss, insertion tube damage, and suction channel restriction are the reasons most of them come off the schedule.
Video gastroscopes
Upper GI devices where the distal end takes bite block strikes and the bending rubber wears thin. Small diameters mean the optical and channel work is done under magnification.
Duodenoscopes
Elevator mechanism, elevator wire channel, and distal cap assessment, plus the seal and channel checks that reprocessing will ask about before the device goes back in rotation.
ENT rhinolaryngoscopes
Flexible nasopharyngoscopes in fiber and chip-on-tip designs. Image bundle breaks show as black spots in the field, and distal tip damage shows as a soft edge.
Flexible bronchoscopes
Small-diameter pulmonary scopes with tight tolerances. Insertion tube repair, angulation recovery, and channel work on devices that get handled hard in procedure rooms.
Light guide sections, cables, and connectors
The umbilical, the connector block, and the illumination path. A dim field is diagnosed here as often as it is diagnosed in the scope body itself.
Independent Pentax Scope Repair Without the Exchange Program
The usual factory answer to a broken flexible device is a swap. You send one in, a different one comes back, and the price was set before anyone looked at yours. That works for some departments. It also means you never learn what actually failed, and after two years your asset list and your physical inventory quietly stop matching.
We do the opposite. The device is evaluated, what we find is written down, the quote is itemized, and you decide. Decline and it comes back to you at no charge. Specialty Surgical Services is an independent repair provider, not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Pentax, and we make no claim to factory parts or factory training. The manufacturer name is used here only to identify what we service.

Flexible Scope Work on Video Gastroscopes and Colonoscopes
GI departments running a second-source fleet often find the scopes get less attention than the dominant platform, simply because there are fewer of them and the vendor relationship is thinner. That shows up as devices limping along with partial deflection or a slow suction channel for months.
Our flexible endoscope repair program treats every arrival the same way regardless of maker: full leak test, channel patency check, articulation measurement, and image assessment before a price exists. Upper GI devices usually come through gastroscope service.
Deflection that has gone soft is the complaint we hear most and the one departments tolerate longest. It is a steering cable and control body job, not a scrapped scope, and the detail is on our angulation and steering cable page.
ENT Scope Repair on Rhinolaryngoscopes and Fiber Optics
ENT clinics tend to own a handful of flexible scopes that live in a drawer between clinics and get inspected rarely. By the time one is sent out, the image bundle has usually lost fibers, the distal tip has been cleaned with something it should not have been cleaned with, and the sheath has a nick nobody noticed.
That work sits under rhinolaryngoscope repair. Chip-on-tip and fiber designs are handled differently, so tell us which you have when you call, or send a photo of the eyepiece end and we will work it out.
Where Pentax Endoscope Service Meets the Rest of Your Fleet
A leak test failure is the single most common reason a flexible device leaves rotation, and the one failure that becomes catastrophic if the scope is reprocessed anyway. Pull it, keep it dry, and read our leak testing and leak repair page before doing anything else.
Mixed GI fleets are normal, and splitting them across vendors is what creates three turnaround schedules for one department. If your suite also runs scopes from another maker, our Fujifilm and Fujinon scope service covers that half under the same account.
