Equipment we service
ConMed Scope, Camera, and Power Equipment We Service
Everything on the arthroscopy cart, from the optics through the video chain to the handpieces that never get sent anywhere.
Linvatec arthroscopes in 30 and 70 degree views
Knee and shoulder optics that get levered against a portal every case. Bowed shafts and cracked rod lenses are the two faults behind most arrivals from an ortho room.
Small joint and narrow diameter telescopes
Wrist, ankle, and elbow optics where a bow small enough to miss by eye is enough to soften the entire field. Repaired under magnification against a resolution target.
Camera heads and video couplers
Moisture past a failed seal, color drift, dead pixels, and couplers that slip out of focus during a case. Electrical safety and sealing are verified before return.
Fiber optic light cables
Bundle replacement and end face repolishing. A cable that has lost fibers reads as a dim scope, and compensating with a hotter source scorches what is left.
Powered handpieces and shaver drives
Bearing wear, seal failure, and torque loss on arthroscopic drives, plus the hand controls, foot switches, and cable assemblies that fail around them.
Electrosurgical handpieces and hand instruments
Insulation assessment on anything exposed to current, plus sharpening, realignment, and tip repair on the punches and graspers in the same tray.
What Independent ConMed Scope Service Actually Covers
The arthroscopy cart is the most mixed piece of equipment in most hospitals. The optics came from one contract, the camera from another, the shaver from a third, and the light cables from whoever had stock. When the picture goes bad, no single vendor owns the problem, so the room guesses and the department pays for the guess.
We take the cart. Optics, camera components, cables, and powered hardware are evaluated together, tested assembled, and quoted item by item. You approve what you want done and decline the rest, and anything you decline comes back untouched at no charge.
Specialty Surgical Services is an independent repair provider. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by ConMed or Linvatec, and we claim no factory parts and no factory training. The names are used here only to identify the equipment we service. Everything else is listed on the brands we service page.
Rigid Scope Rebuilds on Linvatec Arthroscopy Optics
A bowed arthroscope shaft is the standard orthopedic failure and it develops so gradually that most departments never date it. The lens stack goes out of alignment as the shaft moves, the image softens at the edges first, and the room compensates with brighter light and closer working distance until a surgeon finally refuses the scope.
Our arthroscope repair service straightens the shaft, realigns the relay, and verifies the result against a target, because straightening alone puts the same device back on the same cart with the same complaint. It sits inside the wider rigid telescope program, which covers the general surgery and ENT optics in the building too.
Camera Head, Coupler, and Light Cable Faults in the Room
Illumination loss is the fault that hides best. Fibers break a few at a time, the source gets turned up to compensate, the higher output cooks the end faces, and the cable degrades faster. By the time anyone calls it a problem it has been one for a year. Our broken light fiber page covers how that is measured rather than guessed.
Camera heads fail differently. A seal lets go, humidity enters during sterilization, and the picture takes a cast the room corrects with a white balance every case. We handle both under surgical camera and video repair and light cable repair, tested together with the scope.
Powered Handpieces Beside the Surgical Camera Work
Shaver drives and powered handpieces are usually on a separate contract from the optics, which is why they run degraded longer than anything else in the room. A drive losing torque gets worked around case after case. See surgical power equipment repair for what a rebuild covers and what gets tested before return.
If the rest of your cart came from another maker, and it usually did, our Arthrex arthroscopy service covers that portion on the same pickup and the same paperwork.
